Our live chat is being used for serious things, but also for a lot of fun things. And not just chatting. But since the dark underground ages of bbs systems, arpa net and early irc networks, the art of being idle, being online 24/7 escalated into idle groups and uptime records. With many unix and linux users on the network, robot scripts running and users spending many hour at work staring at the screen, it's not gone unnoticed that some have mastered this art of idling. So let's turn that into a game: idle RPG.
If you're online you might as well join the #irpg (idle rpg) channel and register for an account or login to the bot, and .. idle. You win points for being idle, these points help you move around in a virtual world, where you can find items, and fight battles, alone or as a team. And based on your points and items you are stronger or weaker, and could win or lose. Changing nicks and talking will result in punitive points. So the game is on.
/join #irpg
/msg rpg REGISTER <char name> <password> <char class>
(example: /msg rpg register JohnDoe s3cr3t goldfinder)
Users who are registered and logged in get v in the channel - and are active in the game. If you do not see yourself with v, you have to login:
/msg rpg LOGIN <char name> <password>
(example: /msg rpg login JohnDoe s3cr3t)
All registered players are logged and published on a web site here:
Cha.. eh, idle with you soon? Let the battle begin!
