Tonight we've gone ahead and changed the network name from:
vBulletin Fans Chat Network (aka: vBFans), to:
vbirc network (aka: vbirc).
Our main server is irc.vbirc.com, but irc.vbulletin-fans.com and irc.vbulletin-chat.com will still work.
A quick overview of our upcoming network overview:
HUBS: irc.vbirc.com, irc.vbirc.net, irc.vbirc.org
LEAFS: leaf.vbirc.com, leaf.vbirc.net, leaf.vbirc.org, and irc.wetalk.tv, irc.wetalksoccer.com, and irc.marchosis.com
SERVICES: service.vbirc.com, service.vbirc.net, service.vbirc.org
Hopefully the new setup will make more sense, and is easier to remember, more generic and less characters to type. As reported earlier our new network name: vbirc, comes with a web site http://vbirc.com and operators staff email staff [at] vbirc [dot] com (our mailinglist).
Basically nothing has changed, we are the same network, the same servers, the same staff, the same users and the same channels. But for the above reasons (and a few more) we're now just the vbirc network with server irc.vbirc.com and web site www.vbirc.com
If you are a web site owner and have a java applet or other interface pointing to our network I recommend to change the default server to irc.vbirc.com.
If you are a chat user with a chat client and auto connect to our network, edit the preferences and change the network name to vbirc and set the server address to irc.vbirc.com
